About Leon

Leon was founded in 1879, and its first building was H. Belton's blacksmith shop. It was named after Leon, Iowa, which in turn was named for the Fighting Doctor, David Camden de Leon. Its high school baseball team won the 2017 Class 2A-1A state title.
