About Stafford

Stafford was founded in 1878 and, like its county, named for Lewis Stafford, a Civil War casualty. A tornado destroyed the town in 1882, and it was rebuilt within a year. In 2016 residents saved the 1911 Santa Fe depot from demolition with a last-minute petition.
